It’s time for a little leap of faith…

I’m writing for another 24 hour show. Which means Friday, July 24, at 5 pm I get a prompt, which actors (Male, female, how many) I’m writing for, and have until Saturday at 9:00am to get a workable script (of approximately 10 minutes) turned in. Six other writers will be doing the same thing. Then the Actors and Directors have until curtain on Saturday night to get those plays on their feet before a live audience. It’s a high wire act without a net for everyone involved — including the audience, who shows up with no idea what they are going to see.  Some wild, incredible, honest, beautiful, and utterly ridiculous things come out of these evenings — the full gamut of humanity at its messy, joyous, skillful best.

Fresh off an incredible run with Somos Aire at the 2026 Hollywood Fringe Festival, Theatre Unleashed returns with one of our signature formats: seven brand-new 10-minute plays, written and staged in under 24 hours.

The night before the show, our writers get a topic, a pot of coffee, and until sunrise to finish a script. By morning, that script lands in the hands of a director and cast who have less than ten hours to turn it into a fully realized production — blocking, memorizing, and staging a world premiere before the house opens.

The result is funny, reckless, and electric. This isn’t polished theater — it’s theatrical skydiving. Big swings, bold choices, no time to second-guess. Just a team of artists in freefall together.
